Hello Garden Members!

年間４回（主に3ヶ月に１回）日曜日にメイクアップレッスン（補講レッスン）がございますので、そちらにご参加いただけます。長期のお休みに関しては直接ご相談ください。

We offer make-up lessons on Sunday 4 times a year that students can join if they miss class. We can make arrangements for longer absences on a case by case basis.

幼児コースやアップルコースはまず英語で話すよう促しております。フォニックスコース・マグノリアコースも同様ですが、緊急を要する場合は日本語も許可しております。プライベートレッスンにつきましてはどちらの言語を主に使うかお選びいただけます。

We encourage students in our Kindergarten and Apple courses to try English first. Phonics and Magnolia classes are designed to be English immersion courses, so students and teachers should speak only English unless there in an emergency or a dangerous situation. Private lesson and adult students can choose whether they would like the teacher to use Japanese in class.

はい。マグノリア１では読み書きが求められますのでフォニックスの知識が不可欠です。すでにフォニックスの学習経験がある場合は、必要な知識を持っているかテストを受けていただきます。

Yes. We expect Magnolia 1 students to be able to read and write from the first lesson, so phonics is important. Students who have previous English experience or can demonstrate mastery of basic phonetic reading can test out of one or both stages of phonics and join Magnolia 1.

選択肢はいくつかございます。アップルコースはどのレベルのお子様でもご参加いただける内容となっております。お子様が６歳以上で、本格的に読み書きなども学びたい場合はフォニックスコース１からスタートすることをお勧めいたします。年少から年長さんでしたら、基本的には幼児クラスがお勧めです。

We have several options. Apple course is designed so that students of any level can join at any time. Students who want to get a head start on reading can join Phonics 1 if they are 6 or older. Of course, 年少～年長 students can enjoy our kindergarten course regardless of their level!

Of course. We will assess your child's English level at your trial lesson and work together to choose an appropriate class.

フォニックス１・２を合わせて350以上の英単語を学びます。ただしフォニックスコースの狙いは単語の暗記ではなく、文字を読み書きできるようになることです。

Students will study over 350 English words in the phonics stage 1 and 2 practice videos and in class. Please remember that the focus of Phonics Class is reading, not vocabulary memorization.

いいえ。フォニックスコースは文字の音や読み書きを覚えるためのクラスです。新しい英単語を次々と使用することはありませんし、単語テストもございません。

No. Phonics is a reading class that teaches students to use the sounds of English letters to decode words that they may not already know. Most Phonics students do learn quite a lot of new vocabulary, but it is not the focus of the course and we do not test students on their vocabulary.

基本的には鉛筆・消しゴム・テキストですが、その他に必要なものがあればその都度ご案内しております。お飲み物の持ち込み可能です。

The teacher will explain the special requirements for each class, but all students should at least bring a pencil, and eraser and any textbooks that they are using. Students are also welcome to bring their water bottle.

教室内には持ち込めませんが、ロビー・学習室ではご飲食が可能です。

Students are welcome to have food in the study cafe or the lobby, but please ask the teacher before having food in the classroom.

Yes! Family lessons can be scheduled at the normal private lesson price. We can create whatever your family needs. We have helped many families prepare to move abroad, so let us know what we can do for you.

Lessons are either 50 or 60 minutes, depending on the course.

どの生徒様にも最適なレベルのレッスンを心がけておりますが、もし内容が難しすぎる・簡単すぎるなどの心配がございましたら、いつでも担当講師にご相談ください。

We always do our best to match students with the class that is going to be good for them. In the event that a student is struggling, or that the coursework is too easy, please request a meeting and we will discuss the possible solutions.
